Jacob Larsen earns spot on Junior World Team!

Jacob Larsen, a student at Redwood Coast Judo and member of Daiheigen, earned a spot on the 2006 Junior World Team.

Jacob went into trials as the #2 seed. In the first round, Jacob beat Steve Fayzakov of New York. In the second round, Jacob beat the #1 seed, Kyle Vashkulat, also of New York, with seoi nage to force a fight-off for the spot. In the fight-off, Jacob threw Vashkulat with a hip throw to secure the spot.

Jacob then went on to finish the weekend winning the gold medal at the Junior US Open end a fantatic season which saw him winning all three junior national championship titles.
